Our History
Larry Gliko’s background in the construction industry is as follows: His father was a General Contractor and he helped him frame a house when he was 12 years old and subsequently started working in the construction industry in 1968 for a rehabilitation contractor. When he was 16 years old, he became a carpenter's helper. He then became a journeyman carpenter and subsequently worked for several companies in the 1970's, one of which was Largemont Homes.
He then returned to work with his father's company as Project Manager from 1976 to 1980. Then he came to San Diego in 1980 and formed Larry Gliko, General Contractor and performed remodels, commercial projects like Coronado Shores Towers, built homes at Coronado Cays, Pont Loma, Del Mar and by the mid- 1980's built homes in the Ramona Country Estates (did all of his own roof work). Then in 1988 he joined CBC as a Cost Estimator. CBC specialized in reconstruction work. He then soon became the Project Manager for CBC's re-construction work and ran the Invasive/Destructive Testing ("DT") crews. In 1991 became the co-owner of CBC which had anywhere between 40 and 125 employees and was the Cost Estimator and Project Manager for reconstruction jobs. The projects he worked on as Project Manager for CBC were typically in the range of 200-300 condominiums per project. |
